Compassionate support for women living with the effects of childhood trauma, sexual abuse, or neglect.
Trauma therapy is a space where your experiences are honoured, your emotions are welcome, and your pace is respected. It offers the chance to explore the impact of past pain — whether from childhood, relationships, or overwhelming events — in a way that feels safe and steady.
This kind of therapy isn't about fixing you. It's about creating space for you to feel supported as you begin to understand what's shaped you, reconnect with parts of yourself that may feel distant, and gently start to rebuild trust — in your own feelings, in your body, and in the world around you. Healing can happen slowly, in the moments when you feel truly seen and not alone.
Trauma doesn't always show up in obvious ways. You might find yourself stuck in a kind of survival mode — constantly on edge, shutting down, or people-pleasing even when you don't want to. You may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally numb, unsure why things affect you so deeply (or not at all). Shame and self-doubt can creep in, telling you you're “too much” or “not enough.”
Relationships might feel hard — maybe it's difficult to trust, open up, or set boundaries without guilt. And then there's the toll it takes on your body: exhaustion, poor sleep, tension that never quite seems to leave. These responses make perfect sense in the context of what you've been through. Therapy gives you space to gently explore them — and begin to shift the patterns that no longer serve you.
You don't have to live this way forever. Trauma therapy can help you understand these patterns — and begin to gently shift them.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and always guided by what feels safe for you. You won't be pushed to talk about anything before you're ready — we start wherever you are, with care and without judgment. You don't need to have the right words, or even know exactly what you want to say. Just showing up is enough.
As an integrative therapist, I adapt to what feels most helpful for you. That might include exploring how trauma shows up in your body, using grounding tools to support regulation, or gently meeting different parts of yourself with compassion. At the heart of it all is a person-centred, trauma-informed relationship — where you're seen, heard, and supported at your own pace. You can read more about how I work on the About page.
Whether you're dealing with the impact of childhood trauma, emotional neglect, or painful past experiences, therapy can offer a space to begin healing. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and always led by what feels safe for you.
